JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Animal Keeper to join our team. As a Keeper, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of the animals in our zoo. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about wildlife conservation and animal welfare. We care for 250+ animals over 23 acres of land with animals ranging from rabbits and guinea pigs to foxes, alpascas, sheep and George our raccoon. Animal care related qualifications are essential to be considered for this role.

Duties

- Provide daily care for a variety of animals, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health and behavior.

- Maintain clean and safe animal habitats by performing routine cleaning tasks.

- Assist with the enrichment programs to promote natural behaviors and mental stimulation for the animals.

- Be able to administer medication or be willing to learn how to.

- Monitor animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the overall operation of the zoo runs smoothly.

- Participate in educational programs and public presentations to educate visitors about the animals and their conservation.

- Must be able to work independantly or and in a group.
